X-Plain Patient Education
X-Plain® is a library of 10,000+ Arabic and English handouts, videos, and tutorials localized for the GCC. The Patient Education Institute has used X-Plain to help patients understand diseases, procedures, and health promotion concepts since 1995.
We translate the English sources into Modern Standard Arabic using simple Arabic text with diacritics. We then localize the illustrations for the GCC and brand all the content with the client’s name and logo.
X-Plain videos and tutorials use illustrations and animations to simplify information and engage patients. The programs are fully narrated and open captioned. Tutorials offer the unique opportunity to document comprehension using questions that address misconceptions and support teach-back.
Leading health authorities, such as Johns Hopkins Aramco and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, have implemented X-Plain in their EMRs, bedside TVs, patient portals, mobile apps, and public websites.
